Anthony Kiedis began acting at the age of 13, playing Sylvester Stallone's son in the movie F.I.S.T. While in high school Anthony continued to expand his artistic talents, when along with his friend Flea, they decided to start a band. The Red Hot Chili Peppers went on to become one of the most successful artists in alternative rock. As lead singer and songwriter for the band, Anthony has lived life on the edge.
In his new book Scar Tissue, he proves himself to be as compelling a memoirist as he is a lyricist, giving an honest account of the life from which his music has evolved. In his telling, we can see that everything he has done has been part of a passionate journey. Kiedis is a man "in love with everything", even the darkness, the death, the disease. His descent into drug addiction was part of that journey and an experience that he has transformed into art. After winning his battle against drug addiction Anthony participated in Trip on This, an anti-drug video with Jane's Addiction and the Beastie Boys.
In addition to his work with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kiedis has continued acting, appearing in movies that include The Chase, Point Break, and Tough Guys.
